Music
Music @ Sembawang Primary School
At Sembawang Primary School, Music is a dynamic and engaging learning experience where students learn through singing, playing instruments, movement and creating their own music. Through diverse musical experiences such as the ukulele, cajón, drums and angklung, students develop not only musical competencies, but also important 21st Century Competencies (E21CC) such as collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking and self-directed learning.
Our students are encouraged to express their ideas confidently, work meaningfully with others, and appreciate diverse cultures and perspectives through music-making experiences. Songwriting, ensemble performances and creative exploration activities provide authentic opportunities for students to develop their voice, resilience and adaptability in both individual and group settings.
The school is equipped with 2 Music Rooms, 1 Band Room and 1 Music & Dance Space, providing students with purposeful spaces to learn, collaborate, rehearse and perform. Through Music, students grow as confident individuals, active contributors and empathetic citizens with a lifelong appreciation for the arts.
