School Rules & Expectations
The following are general standards of good behaviour expected of all students that apply in any setting and mode of interaction, both online and offline.
General Conduct & Attendance
All students are to…
• attend school regularly and all school programmes as required.
• wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed.
• be punctual for school and all after school activities, events and programmes. (Latecomers will face disciplinary measures, their conduct grade may also be affected).
• be seated at the designated assembly area by 7.30 a.m.
• attend the daily flag-raising and pledge-taking ceremony. Students who are Singapore citizens must sing the National Anthem and take the Pledge. Students will take the Pledge with their right fist placed over the heart.
• demonstrate and exemplify the school values in their actions and behaviours.
• be polite and respectful to all staff, vendors, fellow schoolmates and visitors.
• exercise self discipline and be considerate of others both in and out of school.
• follow instructions given by school authorities.
All students must…
• provide a medical certificate or letter of excuse from parent/guardian if absent from school. For examinations, only medical certificates are accepted. Students without a medical certificate or letter from parents (maximum 5 letters per semester) will be considered as Absent without Valid Reason.
• not leave the school grounds during school hours without a teacher’s permission - inclusive of all afternoon lessons and activities.
• not take any leave of absence during term time for holiday trips.
• not bring any forms of toys or game cards to school.
• not have in their possession any weapon. They are also not allowed to bring any weapon-like item which is intended to be used to cause harm to others.
• not have in their possession any items prohibited by the Singapore law (e.g. e-cigarettes, unlicensed materials in any format).
• not bring any forms of scissors or cutting tools to school. They will be provided for students if required during lessons.
• return all used plates and utensils to the tray collection point of respective stalls.
• request for permission from their teachers / produce a doctor’s memo to take the lift.
Classroom Conduct
All students are to…
• treat one another with respect and care and not hurt one another in any way – physically, emotionally or through online platforms.
• keep the school and classroom clean and not vandalise school property.
• take pride in their work and submit their homework in time.
• take ownership of their personal belongings and valuables.
• wear the exit pass when leaving the classroom during lessons.
Attire & Appearance
All students are to…
• wear the prescribed school uniform and modification to the uniform is not allowed.
• ensure that the school shirt/blouse and PE T-shirt is always tucked in.
• wear PE T-shirts and shorts during PE and PAL lessons. Primary 1 students are allowed to wear their PE attire daily.
All students must…
• wear shoes, shoelaces and socks that are white in colour. The socks must be above the ankle - No ankle socks are allowed.
• only wear slippers or sandals if a doctor’s memo or letter from the parent/guardian is provided.
• wear track shoes only during CCA.
• keep fingernails short and neat with no nail polish applied.
• wear plain looking spectacles or regular colourless contact lenses, if necessary.
• not wear any jewellery or fashion accessories. Religious adornments must be kept hidden from view if worn.
• not sport outlandish hairstyles, streaking, tinting or colouring of their hair.

All male students must…
• be clean-shaven at all times. Moustache and beards are not allowed.
• keep their hair short and neat, not touching the shirt collar OR covering the ears/eyebrows/ forehead.
• have a hairstyle that shows a slope at the back of the head - no undercut or fanciful hairstyles permitted.
• not wear ear studs or any form of body piercings.
All female students must…
• tie up their long hair neatly once it touches the collar.
• keep their fringe away from their eyebrows.
• wear only plain black or blue ribbons, hair bands and/or hair clips. No fanciful hair adornments allowed.
• wear only a pair of simple ear studs. Earrings are strongly discouraged due to safety concerns.
Use of Electronic Devices
• Students who bring such devices are to put them in their school bags before school start time. Note: Except for POSB Smart Buddy watch.
• Devices are to be switched off at all times. Students are not to use smartphones and smartwatches during school hours including recess, lunch, CCA and after-school programmes (e.g. supplementary/ enrichment/ remedial lessons).
• Students should bear responsibility for safekeeping of devices, and the school will not be held responsible for any loss or damage (e.g. supplementary/ enrichment/ remedial lessons & learning journeys).
• If students need to contact their parents/ guardians, they may use the phone located within the General Office.
• Any students found using their devices irresponsibly within the school compound will have the device confiscated without exception. Confiscated smartphones or smartwatches can only be retrieved by the student's parents.
Discipline is fundamental to character development and a safe learning environment. The success of our students' journey depends greatly on the strong partnership between school and home.
